One-Semester and One-Year International Christian University (ICU), Mitaka, Japan On a spacious and wooded campus in the suburbs of Tokyo, International Christian University is one of the most prestigious universities in Japan. Famous for its bilingual education since its founding in 1953, ICU attracts many students from around the world as well as Japanese returnees from abroad, which makes it unique and cosmopolitan. ICU has been a leader in the field of Japanese language educaiton for foreign students since its founding. Its Japanese Language Programs, JLP, attempts to meet the various needs and levels of its students. This program has a formal exchange agreement with W&L. Kansai University of Foreign Studies (Kansai Gaidai), Hirakata, Japan Kansai Gaidai is located in Hirakata City between Kyoto and Nara, the capitals of ancient Japan, and Osaka, the second largest city in Japan. It was founded in 1945 to foster international education in Japan, carry out student and faculty exchanges, and promote cultural contacts and mutual understanding with other countries. It has an enrollment of about 9,000. Since 1972, it has offered as Asian Studies program strongly emphasizing Japan and designed for undergraduate students from abroad. This program has a formal exchange agreement with W&L.
